Da gehts im April hin… Bin auch schon ein wenig aufgeregt! | I will travel there in April… I am also a bit nervous…

So jetzt gibt es erstmal einen Blick zurück. Auf unsere Reise 17. – 23.03.2006 nach Riga und Vilnius. Der Anreisetag war relativ lang. War ja auch ne Zug-, Bus-, Flug, und Busanreise. Wir haben uns trotzdem nicht davon abhalten lassen noch auf ein Bier ne Bar (mit suuper Liveband) zu besuchen:

Now you will get a look back. A look at our journey to Riga and Vilnius 17. – 23.03.2006. The first day was quite long because of the the train, bus, flight and angain bus transport there. Non the less we went to a small bar (with fantastic live music) for a beer:

Am nächsten Tag gings dann direkt in die Altstadt, wie man das halt so macht als Touri. Doch Riga ist sehr schön! Alte Häuser, Kirchen, Gassen, lecker Essen und so …

On the next day we went to the old town, just what you do as a typical tourist. Yes, Riga is realy nice! old houses, churches, small streets, delicious food and so on …

Abends ging es dann in den Essential Club, ordentlich Party machen! Dort haben wir dann das für Riga typische Getränk ‘Balzam’ probiert. Grausames Zeugs, haben allerdings mehrere Runden getrunken?!?

In the evening we went to the Essential Club, rock the party! There we tasted the typical Riga drink ‘Balzam’. Disgusting stuff, but we ordered more then one round?!?

Am Sonntagmorgen wurden dann die Mietwagen abgeholt und es ging quer durch Lettland! Nach Jurmala, zu ner Burg, ne Rieseneiche gesehen usw. usf. Die Straßen waren nicht die besten, aber Antje, Katja und Sergio haben sie als Fahrer gut gemeistert!

On sunday moring we got the rented cars and we drove though across Latvija! To Jurmala, a castle, a really big oak and so on. The streets were in bad condition, but Antje, Katja and Sergio as driver mastered this challenge!

Am Montag gings weiter mit den Auto’s durch Lettland zu einem wirklich schönen Palast. (aufm Weg noch ne Burg mitgenommen) Dort haben wir die schönste Toilette Europas bewundert. (viel schöner als die in Versaille) Nach einer aufregenen Fahrt zum Flughafen, inklusive verpasstem Flug (Anna’s) gings dann in der Nacht mit dem Bus ca 5 Stunden in die nächste Hauptstadt Vilnius.

On monday we continued driving with the cars through Latvija to a nice palace. (on way we saw another castle) There we had a look at europes nicest toilet. (even nicer than Versailles) After a quite exiting ride to the airport, inclusive missing the plane (for Anna) we traveled over night approximatly 5 hours to the next capital Vilnius.

In Vilnius angekommen wurde direkt die nächste Altstadt besucht. Dort gibt es ziemlich viele Kirchen (22!) und ne Menge nette Gassen. Neben den Besuchen der Kirchen haben wir eine Erasmusparty in Vilnius besucht. Eher unabsichtlich. War aber ganz cool.

Arrived in Vilnius we visited the next old town. They have a lot of churches (22!) there and some nice small streets. Beside the visit of some churches we made party on a erasmus party. More accidently. Was right good!

Essenstechnisch haben wir uns nicht lumpen lassen. Da Essen gehen relativ günstig is haben wir es uns immer gut gehen lassen. (10€ für ein kompletes Essen) Keine Frage. Hier mal ein Bespiel:

We had really good food in that trip. When going to a restaurant the food is quite cheap. (10€ for complete meal. And i mean complete) . Here an example:

... und der urlaub is noch nicht zu Ende … Am Mittwoch gings dann zum KGB Museum. Das war beeindruckend da das Museum in einem ehemaligen KGB Gefängnis untergebracht ist.

... and the journey is not over … On wednesday we went to a KGB museum. Very impressive because that museum is inside an old KGB prison.

Später haben wir noch einen Ausflug zum kleinen Vorort Trakai gemacht … | later we made a small excursion to Trakai, a small village near Vilnius …

Am letzten Tag, zurück in Riga, haben wir noch die Markthallen in Riga besucht, uns den Jugendstil angeschaut und uns dann auf die Heimreise gemacht. War ein langer Tag. Früh morgens aufgestanden in Vilnius, mit dem Bus nach Riga, später mit dem Flugzeug nach Tampere, nach Helsinki mit dem Zug und spät Abends in Leppävaara ins Bett gefallen.

On the last day, back in Riga, we visited the markethalls in Riga and the art nouveau buildings. Then we traveled back. It was a long day. We got up early in Vilnius, by bus to Riga, later with plane to Tampere, then by train to Helsinki and ariving quite late in Leppävaara.
